Who we are looking for

You don’t need to have any election experience or even be a prominent member yet. We are looking for people who:

  • Are team players and value shared success 

  • Are open to learning, listening, and growing in the role 

  • Can connect with diverse communities, media, and supporters 

  • Have experience — lived, worked, or campaigned — in driving change 

  • Are willing to represent themselves and the Sharing Party’s vision in public 

What's involved?

Standing as a Sharing Party MP candidate means leading from the front in a team-based, high-energy campaign. To give a quick snapshot, you’ll be:  

  • Motivating voters one-to-one and building relationships in the community 

  • Working with local teams to inspire and organise volunteers 

  • Speaking at events, engaging online, and with the media 

  • Representing the Sharing Party's values clearly and confidently 

It’s demanding, but you won’t be doing it alone. We offer training, mentoring, and guidance at every stage — including via our Candidate Outreach Scheme. 

We are especially keen to hear from people from backgrounds under-represented in politics — including people of colour, disabled people, women, and LGBTQIA+ people — and are committed to offering support, guidance, and encouragement. 

Some candidates may be encouraged to stand in a different, more winnable area than the one they live in
